Besides Vietnam and Hawaii, #Tulum Mexico is one of the only places that I have stayed longer than a month. With that said, I want to share with you a short review about our stay here. Pros: - There is a lot to learn here. Tulum is an ancient Mayan city rich in History. I learned so much about Mayan language, culture, and their civilization. - If you love photography as much as I do, you will have tons of amazing photos here. Tulum is filled with beautiful cenotes and beaches. If you are into the jungle vibes, there are many hotels that can provide an incredible experience for you as well. - If you enjoy wellness activities, and choose a more vegan diet, Tulum actually offers a variety of food to suit your needs. Finding a yoga class is also not hard to find. Most hotels offer classes which our usually included in your stay. - One of the things I enjoyed doing during my time in Tulum was to walk up and down the beach street. There are many restaurants and shopping to choose from. I felt like it never ended! - People here are really friendly. We made a lot of friends! They all ranged from fellow photographers, to personal chefs, yoga teachers, and astrologist. It was amazing to meet so many cool people with the similar interests! Cons: - Expensive! If you want to come to Tulum to enjoy good food, parties, massages or even access to a few hotels along the beach, be prepared to have your money ready. If you are dining on the beach side of Tulum, a normal meal can cost anywhere between $50-$100 (for two). Parties can cost anywhere between $100 (may or may not include entrance fee). Massages can cost anywhere between $100-$175 an hour. These are almost prices comparable to Hawai’i. Tulum is definitely way overpriced! - As I mentioned above, I love the vibe of the beach area however the road is quite narrow and if it gets busy, it can be a bit dangerous. If you rent a car, finding parking is a pain in the ass. You would have to pay anywhere between $300 - $500 pesos for parking. - Customer service here is not the greatest which is quite disappointing especially when you are paying anywhere between $50-$100 a meal.
